A Copenhagen round trip

For our third cruise we took a 12-night Baltic cruise starting from Copenhagen, Denmark on June 30, 2010 and returning to Copenhagen on July 12, 2010.
One of the differentiators that drew us to this particular itinerary was the multiple days in some of the ports of call - 2 days in Warnemunde (the port city for Berlin), Germany; 3 days in St Petersburg, Russia and 2 days in Stockholm, Sweden. It was also something a bit different for us after two cruises on Celebrity Cruises with this cruise being on Azamara Journey - operated by Azamara.

We left home on June 28 to arrive in Copenhagen early in the morning of June 29 to enjoy some time in the city before making our way to the cruise ship. After the cruise we met up with Gary’s cousin Nicola, who had travelled to Copenhagen from London, to enjoy the city a bit more before heading back home on July 14.

Azamara Journey

This cruise was our first on Azamara Journey - one of three near identical ships owned and operated by Azamara.

It really has become so far our home on the seas since this cruise in 2010. We wanted to try a smaller ship after two cruises on larger vessels with Celebrity Cruises. We loved the experience on the smaller ship. It really did suit us better. When booking some of our subsequent cruises we had actually looked at some other cruise line options - but the combination of available itineraries and service that we knew and loved brought us back to booking again on Azamara Journey.
