Gary's work travels
Copper Smelting in the Copperbelt and North-Western Provinces

Back to Zambia for the start of 2016

Since his first trip to Zambia in 2000, Gary has made many work trips to both the Copperbelt & North-Western provinces of Zambia.

The first few Zambian trips were to the smelter of Koncola Copper Mines located in the city of Kitwe in the Copperbelt region of Zambia. Following that were many trips to the smelter of Mopani Copper Mines in Mufulira, which is also located in Zambia’s Copperbelt region. The last five trips from 2014 through to 2016 have been to Kansanshi Copper Smelter located near Solwezi in the North-Western Province of Zambia.

Gary started 2016 with another work trip to the Kansanshi Copper Smelter located near Solwezi in the North-Western Province of Zambia - this one being a 5 week assignment that ended up being extended with some unexpected time in South Africa at the end of the trip.

We aren't able to display any of the actual work-related photographs from this trip - so collected here are a few photos to show some of the wildlife outside of smelter and a couple of other things outside of the work while in Zambia.

Previous trips to Zambia

So far we have pages for Gary's Zambia trips going back to 2010. Any new trips will be added as they happen and older trips will be added once we unearth the details from the White house digital and analog archives.
